Help Shape the Future of ICRP Symposia — Your Voice Matters!

2026-10-26

ICRP is inviting the global radiological protection community to help shape the future of its international Symposia, with an opportunity to win complimentary registration to ICRP 2027 in Beijing, China.

Traditionally, ICRP has invited participants to provide feedback following its Symposia. This time, we're taking a different approach: asking our community what it wants from future Symposia before decisions are made.

ICRP Symposia bring together scientists, regulators, practitioners, industry representatives, international organisations, and other stakeholders from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss developments in radiological protection.

Presenting and discussing ICRP's scientific and technical work will always remain at the heart of these events. However, as ICRP continues to strengthen its engagement with the international community, we want to explore how our Symposia might evolve to offer even greater value to participants.

What Could the Future Look Like?

Could we create more opportunities for interactive scientific discussions? Make it easier for participants to connect with colleagues from different countries and professional backgrounds? Introduce new formats that encourage dialogue and the exchange of perspectives? Provide greater opportunities for emerging professionals to participate, contribute, and build relationships?

These are just some of the possibilities we're exploring, and we want to hear ideas we may not have considered. With ICRP 2027 taking place in Beijing, China, from 20–24 September 2027, there may be opportunities to introduce new initiatives in the near term, while also considering how our Symposia could evolve over the years ahead.

This consultation is exploratory. No particular changes have been predetermined, and not every suggestion will necessarily be feasible. Our objective is to better understand what the community values, identify common priorities, and consider practical opportunities to make future ICRP Symposia more engaging, inclusive, and valuable.

We Want to Hear From Everyone

Whether you've attended every ICRP Symposium, participated only once, or have never attended, your perspective is important. We're particularly interested in understanding how expectations differ across regions, professional backgrounds, career stages, and previous Symposium experiences.

The future of ICRP Symposia shouldn't be shaped by ICRP alone. We hope this consultation will help ensure that future decisions are informed by the diverse perspectives of the international radiological protection community.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and responses may be submitted anonymously.

Have Your Say — and a Chance to Join Us in Beijing!

As a thank you for participating, ICRP will randomly select one eligible survey respondent to receive one complimentary full registration to ICRP 2027 in Beijing.

To be eligible for the draw:

  • Complete the survey before 30 November 2026.

  • Provide your email address in the optional contact field at the end of the survey so that you can be entered into the draw and contacted if selected.

  • Only one entry per person is permitted.

The prize includes one complimentary full Symposium registration only. Airfare, accommodation, and all other travel-related expenses are not included and remain the responsibility of the winner.

Providing an email address is optional. Respondents who prefer not to enter the draw are still encouraged to complete the survey and share their perspectives anonymously.

You can complete the survey here.

We also encourage individuals and organisations to share this invitation with their colleagues, members, and professional networks. The broader the participation, the better we can understand the priorities and expectations of our global community.
