Draft report: The scope of radiological protection

The work of an ICRP Task Groups is nearing completion. The report of the Task Group addresses the scope of radiological protection . Since virtually everything is slightly radioactive for natural reasons, there has to be a practical level below which material is not regarded as radioactive for radiological protection purposes, and the draft report discusses that level.

ICRP routinely solicits comments on most draft documents prior to publication, with the exception of those that are basically compilations of computed values such as specific absorbed fraction values or dose conversion factors.
