ICRP Main Commission Meeting

2005 March 14-18 – Paris, France

The Main Commission of the International Commission of Radiological Protection and its Committees met in Paris, France, March 14-18 2005.

The Main Commission approved Human Alimentary Tract Model for Radiological for publication given that the amendments discussed during the meeting were addressed.

The Main Commission reviewed the following foundation documents:

• Foundation document, optimisation (42/266/06 March 2005 version)
• Foundation document (physics), Basis for Dosimetric Quantities Used in Radiological Protection (22/42/04, March 2005 version)
• Foundation document (biology), Biological and Epidemiological Information on health Risks Attributable to Ionising Radiation: A Summary of Judgments for the Purposes of Radiological Protection (11/257/03, March 2005 version)
• Foundation document, defining the individual

for reviewing and editing purposes and made a series of recommendations for each document. The Main Commission requested that these documents would have the necessary changes completed in April and for web-consultation until mid-July in order to have refined report ready for September 2005 meeting.

The Main Commission received a report by IRSN in France who gave permission for ICRP to publish the report. The Main Commission requested the Scientific Secretary to slot the report into the Annals publishing schedule.

For purposes regarding financial and administrative matters, the Commission constituted itself as the Management Committee. The Management Committee approved the F&A Assessment of our finances report and the proposed budget for the fiscal year.

The Main Commission discussed the agenda for the September 2005 Joint Commission hearing.

This meeting marked the retirement of Chair members J G Dicus, R Alexakhin, and Chairman R H Clarke. The Commission thanked the individuals for their service.
