The Chairman welcomed Professor Kaul and Dr Matsudaira as new members to the Commission and thanked Dr Shigematsu, Dr Silini, and Professor Guskova for their service with ICRP in light of their retirements.
Adopted reports have appeared in the Annals of the ICRP as Publication 62, 63, and 64.
A list of invited individuals to each Committee was given in the meeting minutes. Committee Chairmen were instructed to prepare a document regarding their Committee work plans for the next few years.
The Commission received progress reports and discussed amendments for the following reports:
Report on the Human Respiratory Tract Model for Radiological Protection –
Changes by the report authors and information in different chapters was modified and approved by the Commission. The Commission agreed to not recommend the assessment of rick from calculations of equivalent doses in tissues of the respiratory tract and to delete Annex 1 from the report.
Draft report on Protection against Radon at Home and at Work –
The commission agreed to issue the draft as a consultative document to IAEA, NEA, ILO, FAO, WHO, PAHO, and IRPA.
Age-Specific Dose Coefficients-
Dose coefficients were received and agreed upon by the Commission for elements in Publication 56 with exception of Pb-210, RA-224, and Ra-226.
The Commission decided for the next meeting to take place September 20-24 1993 in Bournemouth.
