The Commission was presented with updates from ICRU regarding some of their activities that might be of interest to ICRP and news from other organisations indicating their interest in sending representatives to ICRP meetings.
It was agreed by the Commission that Dr. D Sowby should continue listing the records of the Commission.
The following reports were approved for publication, subject to minor editorial changes on the part of the author.
• Optimisation and decision making in radiological protection
• Principles for the protection of the patient in diagnostic radiology
The Commission heard the following work progress updates from Committees 1-4.
C1- The Reports on Reference Radiations and RBE for Non-Stochastic Effects are planned for final publishing pending Commission approval. The Report of a Working Group on Probability of Causation is to be circulated to Main commission members.
C2- The Commission stressed that the TG on the Reference Man be reviewed and edited. The Report of the working party on metabolism of tritium and carbon14 is to be published in the open literature.
C3- Patient Dose Reduction - inexpensively and easily is to be presented in condensed form for presentation as a poster at the International Congress of Radiology in Paris 1989.
C4- Discussions made at this meeting will be incorporated into the next draft of the recommendations.
The Commission will meet next in Paris from 17-21 April 1989
