The Commission held a special meeting of which the sole purpose was to review and if possible, adopt a final revision of its new recommendations (previously referred to as ICRP Publication 29).
The Commission took the following actions:
• The Commission retained the value of a dose equivalent limit of 5 rem per year.
• Retained dose equivalent for the quantity and to use Sievert (Sv) as name of unit.
• Give rem equivalent in parentheses as well as value in Sv for all dose equivalent limits.
• Reviewed comments and prepared new wordings for incorporation into new version of recommendation.
• The Commission adopted the revised version of the recommendations.
