Main Commission Meeting Chilton 1993

Summary

The Main Commission met in Chilton, UK from September 27-29, 1993.

Professor Clarke presented a report on the Protection against Radon-222 at home and at work. The report goes into great detail regarding risk estimate from radiation doses of Radon-222. The report also outlines recommended action levels and occupational annual limits of exposure.

Additionally, all of ICRP’s committees proposed new task groups. The list of new approved task groups included:
  • Risk Estimation for Multifactorial Diseases
  • Genetic Susceptibility
  • Reference Man
  • Dose Calculations
  • Dose Related Quantities for Radiological Protection against External Radiation
  • Radiological Protection and Safety in Medicine
  • General Principles for the Radiation Protection of Workers
